Join us for a weekend retreat at the magical Ballintubbert in collaboration with renowned Yoga teacher Mari Kennedy and much travelled Chef Lu Thornely. Rest, stretch, forage and feast. Delve into a true state of relaxation amidst the luxury of the house and the serenity of the gardens. Come away feeling rejuvenated ,inspired and ready for the months ahead.
Let the wisdom of Mari Kennedy guide you through the weekend to prepare and celebrate the Autumn Equinox, the end of the harvest and the last festival in the Celtic year.
This is a time of completion and preparation for moving into the deeper spiral of the next Celtic cycle. A beautiful time to take stock and get in sync with nature’s rhythms and the ritual year.
Enjoy Lu Thornely’s vibrant cooking with delicious dishes served throughout the weekend inspired by ayurvedic ingredients, local suppliers & the harvest season bringing balance and vitality to her vegetarian delights. All meals will be lovingly prepared by Lu using local organic producers where possible, the garden at Ballintubbert, whole foods and ferments.
There will be time to forage (optional) on the Saturday afternoon which Lu will incorporate into the evening feast. All meals are shared together in the dining room of the main house and dinner will be a wholesome and nutritious affair.
Lu has worked as a party caterer for over twenty years spanning her career with festivals, weddings, garden parties and private celebrations. ‘Moving down the path of designing and hosting retreats in collaboration with yoga teachers and Irish country houses feels the natural way to express my love of healthy food and yoga.
